Question 1

Do I have to move or copy my data into VedaApps?

Accepted Answer

No. Your database stays the one source of truth. VedaQL runs your queries against your PostgreSQL, MySQL, SQL Server, MongoDB or other database when a page asks for data. VedaUI can also use any REST API your systems already have. VedaUI stores only how your software is built: pages, settings, roles and connections.

Question 2

How are database passwords and API keys kept?

Accepted Answer

They are stored encrypted (AES-256) and shown masked in the builder. Connectors run on the server, so keys are never sent to the browser.

Question 3

Who checks what each person may see and do?

Accepted Answer

The server. You choose who can open each page and who can use each connector and function; the server refuses everyone else. Values like the signed-in person’s id come from their server session, so they can’t ask for someone else’s records.

Question 4

When AI builds for us, what does it see?

Accepted Answer

The AI assistant you connect works through the same tools you use: it sees page designs and connector settings (with keys hidden), and small samples of data with personal fields masked. It goes to the AI provider you choose; VedaApps does not train AI models on your data.

Question 5

Do I need to know coding?

Accepted Answer

No. Pages, forms, tables, boards, sign-in, roles, approvals and automation are all set up in the builder. Small JavaScript functions are there only if you want special rules.

Question 6

Where does custom code run, and is it safe?

Accepted Answer

On the server, in its own isolated space for each run: no access to the server’s files or settings, limited memory (32 MB) and time (5 seconds). It reaches other systems only through your connectors.

Question 7

Can an AI assistant build screens for me?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Connect Claude or another assistant that supports MCP, and describe what you want. It creates pages and connectors in your project, checked against the same rules as the builder. You can open and change everything it makes, and nothing goes live until you publish.

Question 8

Which AI assistants work with it?

Accepted Answer

Claude, and other AI assistants that support MCP (Model Context Protocol). VedaUI and VedaQL each have their own MCP server: VedaUI’s lets the assistant build pages, connectors and functions; VedaQL’s lets it use your endpoints as tools. To connect, create an API key in VedaUI → API keys and paste the prompt it gives you into your assistant. You use your own AI provider and account.

Question 9

Can my customers use it, or only my staff?

Accepted Answer

Both — customer portals with sign-in and your brand, and internal software for your team.

Question 10

Does it work on phones?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Pages adapt to phone screens, and wide tables can show one card per row.

Question 11

Can we use our own login system?

Accepted Answer

Yes, and we recommend it: VedaUI signs people in through your own system’s login API, so they keep their existing accounts. You can also use VedaUI accounts, one-time codes, forgot password and captcha. Using SAML or an OpenID Connect provider? Talk to us.

Question 12

Can we host it ourselves?

Accepted Answer

Talk to us. VedaUI installs as a set of Docker containers, so it can run on your own server.

Question 13

How does the 7-day trial work? Do I need a card?

Accepted Answer

No card needed. Sign up in VedaQL and in VedaUI — each app has its own account. You get your own workspace on our demo server, with a sample project ready to open, change and publish. The trial ends by itself after 7 days.

Question 14

What happens when my trial ends?

Accepted Answer

Your workspace stops. Talk to us before it ends if you want to keep your work and carry on.

Question 15

Is my data safe in the trial?

Accepted Answer

The trial is for trying things with sample data. Please don’t use real customer data on the demo server — use a test copy, or the database VedaQL sets up for you.

Question 16

How much does it cost?

Accepted Answer

Talk to us about your project and we’ll share the options. Book a demo.
